SnapFeel is a software platform that analyzes electronic text to detect emotions and determine the writer’s state of mind. Unlike other attempts to detect emotions in text, SnapFeel does not need to neither “read” nor understand the text. SnapFeel provides an accurate detection of what users want the most - to feel the other side, not just read dry text.

The writing process is a thinking process that requires a high level of attentiveness from the writer, with the transformation of information on three levels: brain (abstract thinking), internal speaking, and written language. As information passes these three distinct stations, it creates gaps, even the smallest of which, can be identified, measured and analyzed. SnapFeel’s technology translates these gaps and represents the writer’s state of mind, or in other words - the different levels of emotion, stress and thinking when he/she wrote the text.

SnapFeel's algorithm analyzes electronic text on-line, in real time, and works on any alphabetic language without the need to “read” or understand the content. Input is electronic text from any source, and output is the writer's state of mind, displayed in actual text and/or animated graphic symbols (emoticons). The technology analyses the writer's state of mind in each section of the text, and provides an overall conclusion based on the entire text. Results are clearly presented to the user on two levels: general, the writer’s general state of mind based on the entire text, and segmented/detailed, which pinpoints important sections of the text where emotion levels were irregular.

Core technology is derived from 3 distinct processes:

• Crushing – dismantling the analyzed text
• Pasting – reassembling the text (output of the first phase)
• Classification & Analysis – collection and analyzing the findings from the first and the second phases

The outcome is the writer’s state of mind in the specific analyzed text, with an emphasis on situations of stress, emotional stress, and cognitive stress. SnapFeel’s unique technology generates a varied set of emotions, including Stress, Excitement, Emotional State, Concentration, Anticipation, Arousal, and Neutral.
